I just got a Clifford security system through ebay. Its got all kinds of bells and whistles.

remote door unlocking/locking
valet mode
shock sensor
proximity sensor
hood and trunk switches
Remote start (which I probably won't use)
siren(I know of course it comes with a siren)
starter disabiling
etc., etc.

I was wondering if anyone has installed one before so I know what kind of work I'll be getting into if I install it myself.

I'm cheap and I really don't want to have to pay someone to install it if I can avoid it.

Any advice is appreciated

If you install it yourself, you will probably have a rats nest after your done! I'm an Installer at the Good Guys! and if your debating to do it, you probably do not have to much experience with electronics. The key to a nice security system is a clean hidden wiring job. If you get it professionally installed, you won't have to worry about wires getting disconnected, your car not starting for some odd reason, blowing fuses, etc...

Your right I'm really not that experienced with installs.

I was just trying to save myself some cash.

I'll probably just have it installed by a pro.
