Forget searching for shit, get an Injen made for a 1.8L, just go here. (http://www.machv.com/newin1gntins.html) And there you have it, a 1.8L Injen Intake, complete with K&N open-element filter. Still sucks in hot under-hood air, but oh well, it allows more air flow than stock, and makes your car sound better too.

That's what I paid for my Injen at MachV.com

That's what I paid for mine too...the price to pay to be too lazy to make one on your own I guess.

Hey smart guys. The 1.8 still has the same MAS that the turbos do. So simply buying an air intake with a cone filter and attaching it to the throttle body is going to make the car run like crap. The best thing to do is make a replacement pipe from the throttle body to the MAS then get a K&N replacement filter and hack the air can.

What do you think the Injen intake is?

Hey there smart guy !! What exactly do you think an air intake is? It's a pipe that goes from the plenum to the MAS, then the K&N filter attaches to the MAS (this is in instances where the MAS is located between the pipe and filter, which is the case on our cars) What would make you think that Injen would make something for a car that would make it run like shit? Wow, who's the smart guy here? No disrespect intended, but you should research 1.8L products before you get it mixed up with something/doing something else. Hack the air can? Just run the filter open, it's made to filter, let it do it's job.

not saying ur wrong, but just because somethings made for ur car doesnt mean its gonna make it fast, look at iceman intakes, they = poop, and those 'performance timing chips' lol

Incorrect...

The MAS is different for both engines. However the air can lid has the same oval shape, so the K&N replacement filter bolts fine on both air can lids...

But what about the sensors on the stock intake? Would an after market intake have the same things to hook up?

I never said anything about making it fast, I just said it was made to bolt up right and accomodate the placement of the MAS. Oh, and I definitely agree with you, iceman = poop, and the chips are a joke too.

The sensors on the stock intake are all connected to the plate that the pipe sleeve slips over, that the MAS is located on. So therefore, there is nothing that comes with the aftermarket intake other than the pipe, vacuum line, everything to bolt things together, and filter to take the place on the plate where the MAS is located.
