Welcome to the Newbies forum, where the questions we've seen before are asked all over again. ;)

We only have two simple rules in here -
1) No bashing allowed!
- This forum was created so new members can ask a common question without having to face the wrath of everyone else who's tired of seeing it. ;)

2) Do your homework!
- We still encourage our users to use the http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/images/top_search.gif button in the upper-right corner AND check out the We've Seen These Before (http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=22) forum too, before posting a question. :)

This forum was a great idea. Sometimes I think newbies have gotten a bad first impression of us because they posted a "Geez! Not again!" question in the forums, only to be ripped to shreds by someone having a bad day. This allows the new people to begin learning, and get accustomed to the site before they get their first flame job. :D

Good idea mods!:tree:

Proud owner of a 97 gst spyder, but still learning, these cars are very involved, probably didn't go deep enough into archives, but would RC 550's be the best (subjective), upgrade over stock injectors, and what about performance clutches, seems its between ACT 2600, and centerforce dual friction (around 2500lbs. clamping force). hope u can deal with another new learner, but dedicated. thanks

I just thought I would introduce myself.. Im Jessie and I own a 97' Eclipse GS-T that I want to learn all I can about. For the most part, my car runs really well but I'm now keeping an extra fund incase something goes wrong with it since the other week I needed a new key cylinder out of nowhere. My boyfriend and friends call my car the "Turbo Terd" cause it's an automatic... but ah well. I still love it!

And until I search and search and search again... I'll try not to ask any questions that have been asked and answered before. Thank you!

Yeah, I myself need to be careful about what I type down, whether I am a newbie or not. I was on the vendors review forum typing down my first thread, only to get the crap chewed out of me by some senior member.

Hi my name is Nino I'm new to dsmtalk. I just bought a 95' gsx. Awesome car, I love it. The guy I bought it from invested quite a bit into it but had to sell it. It's got a 91' 6 bolt swapped in with 80k on it.2g exhaust manifold, greddy type-S, 660 denso's, 190 w.f.p., BFMIC, 3" turbo back, SAFC 2, ACT 2100 w/lightened flywheel, shortshifter, baby timer, and battery relocation. I just wanted to say I look forward to joining the family of dsmer's and I think I'm off to a good start. Thanx!

Hi, my name's Ibo, but everyone also calls me iberto. I'm a little used to this forum since I owned my first 1G non-turbo in 2003, my second 1G (91 GSX) in 2005 and now I own my third 1G - NT again. I love this car, i wanted to save money for a 2G but i just fell in love with that car, so I decided to get another 1G - again.
unfortunately it's very hard to get GSTs or GSXs of both generation in Germany, where I live.
I try hard speakin English and I hope everyone understands me.
My goal is to fix my ride to make it as clean and beautiful as a 1G can be. And as soon as I saved enough money I'll import a neat and nice GST or GSX to Germany.
By the way, I love this forum, it's great and full of knowledge and kind 'n helpful people.

Question...why can't I edit my profile. I don't have my 99 GST anymore and I don't love in Iowa anymore, everytime I change them and hit save it goes back to old settings.

Helllo everyone - this is the first time that I have tried to post and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right - if not, I apologize. I have looked very hard for the answer to my problem - car sites, google, car talk and can't seem to get an answer. If there is air between my turbo and my air filter, would that cause the car to not start sometimes and blow out a puff of white smoke - only when starting? Drives good once it's going. 1990 Eagle Talon, TSI.

I have to agree that you need to follow rule #7 when posting. But anyways, you need to be a member for at least 90 days and have at least 50 posts to gain access to the Classified section. FS/WTB posts outside of the Classifieds are strictly prohibited. On a side note...post whoring to gain access is not allowed and we do keep an eye out for it. I suggest searching craigslist and the DSMtrader for what you need until you participate enough to gain access to out classified section.

Don't vent.

:confused:This is defiantly the wrong thread for that question. Read the rules on the first page of this thread.
If you search for venting to atmosphere, you will find allot on it. But it you use a GM MAS and MAF-T for it to work without problems, but you get more performance and a quicker spool if you recirculate instead of venting. Don;t use a BOV just for sound.
Good luck.

Hey, whatsup
Jp90Talon, i have sent you two reply's but i don't think you got my first one so i'm hoping you got the second.
I'm here because in the early 90's a car was born with more complexity and mod-ability then any car I have ever seen... and now i'm taking it apart.

I would like to thank all moderators for building this site and i am going to suck as much knowledge from it as possible.
