Few more that are not coming to mind... I say give FFWD Connection a call, they have great service and do some amazing work. And, they remember names! Talk about cool :hail:

what does Fast Disconnection do?

BJ does all the labor and Darren/Fast Disconnection uses someone else's shop for the cryo work. He himself doesn't actually touch anything but our money... rather your money as i don't deal with me anymore.

both BJ and FastDisconnection are local (Oklahoma) and i wouldn't EVER, EVER, NEVER take my stuff to FastDisconnection.
though when in gear BJ does put out some nice work.

Aniel Pagan (www.ap-r.com) is who i have been taking my car(s) to from now on, 10 years+ being a certified Mitsu mechanic. thats more than any other local dsm shop can say!

just my two cents.

ffwd connection does build the motors, i know this cause im good with darren, yes bj helps him but he does have his own shop, several of his own cars and he made my stock 92 eclipse run a 13.9 . plus he is good priced.

Aniel at ap racing is also good he too used bj to help exactly like darren, and he doesnt cryo his own stuff last time i checked he is also local for me, I know them both personaly.aniel is a bit more expensive i think too but dont hold it against me if i am wrong.

its just who you want to work on the motor, aniel (who has other ppl there that do work too.

or darren who does it all himself plus darren is alot faster with gettin the work done.

This is all from personal experience.

I'm pretty sure ffwd connection and fast disconnection are not the same place... I've never heard of the latter but FFWD.. has had great customer service and I got my order right quick like.

I'm gonna plug pro 1 motorsports.com :D

yeah i would agree... personal experience;

don't get me wrong; i love those American-Eagle 5 star Wheels on Darren's ride... it's just HE isn't doing the Cryo work, someone else is. HE isn't building these heads, someone else is.

just looking at his site, not knowing any better... i was under the impression that FFWD does all that work Darren claims but as it turns out... he isn't. i just find that to be something close to lying in my book. then again with the internet you can be who ever ya want. im just glad i'm local and i can visually see the shop and those cars of his. not saying he's bad or good i'm just saying there are more skilled people in Oklahoma working on Mitsu cars.

NO RICE
09-03-2003, 04:59 PM
He does build the heads, if you talk to him he will tell you he brings your stuff somwhere else to do the cryo, its on his site so you know you have the option. I think that darren and aniel had worked together before aniel started humble performace, but i may be wrong. You say your local? Where are you located maybe we can meet up, talk cars, help with mine hehe.

Dont think that im tryin to start anythin, im not, were just talkin here right?

oh yeah man, we're just talking... no flaming of any kind. =)

i know it's hard to understand how i'm laying my thoughts down on here so i'm kinda picky with what i say.

so you're down to a 13.9 right? i saw your list of mods on the other dsm site... quite impressive list so i'm wondering why you're running a high 13. tuning maybe?

eh well... work calls.

NO RICE
09-03-2003, 05:48 PM
13.9 was stock with a k&n filter

my best was last year with a 13.6

havent ran it since all the i/c piping, intake pipe, afc, and big sidemount, im guessin low 13's now. but the car is down so hopefully itll be high 12's when it comes out.

Aniel has helped me out so much lately that I'd highly recomend him. He just helped my out with my 6-bolt swap and after working with him on some of this, I can honestly say that he knows his stuff. When No Rice says he doesn't do his own work, I'd have to disagree. Most of the machine work he sends to other shops but personally I'd rather have him do that. I would rather have a shop that has all the proper tools and knows how to set everything perfectly in spec do all the machining. Even the Mitsubishi dealerships send the blocks to other machine shops when it's needed. As far as prices go, I consider AP Racing to be well worth the money for a certified mitsu. tech who also has a FWD 1st gen that is running a 10.02 1/4 without complete tuning, and was built by him. Many mechanics especially here in Tulsa hate working on DSMs. I highly recomend Aniel Pagan.

I highly recomend Aniel Pagan.
i totally agree;

i leave my cars in AP Racing's care because i know for a fact he is more than fair on labor pricing and there are NOT any hidden b/s.
we all know those shops that'll quote 1,500$ for this and that... then when ya pick the car up they hand you a 2,100$ bill.

besides that... i can visually see with my own eyes that he knows his stuff. besides that; he's treated me right this whole time (like not trying to take advantage of my wallet, which i can't say for 80% of any other shop in town).

just my opinion on the two

my first time i dealt with darren i got burnt, and he wouldnt return my calls

i got alot of my parts from ap-r/humbleperformance
aniel treated real well, and he doesnt try to break your wallet, darren doesnt budge on his prices and he wasnt very helpfull with questions

i would still get stuff from aniel or alex but one of their associates, decided they wanted to be real nasty towards me and started sending me really nasty emails

after that incident i wont deal with either of them again.

If you own a proffesional shop, you dont let your associates/friends email your customers wit nasty or vulgare obscenities

was like the guy extra scary er something? but that isn't any reason to stop talking with someone... because of what someone else did. but you know that =)

IM sorry i must not have been descriptive enough, yes aniel does do his own work, but i have also seen other ppl in his shop work on the cars too, and they were not the owners, I diddnt mean to sound like i was dissing aniel, I have done buisness by buying parts off him. I do have great respect for aniel. However he did work on my 2g and he left tools in the engine bay which got caught in my belts(that he replaced) and by tools I mean a screwdriver and a 2 foot prybar. I dont want it to get around to aniel that I was "dissing" him cause im not. Sorry for the misunderstanding. As for humble i will not talk to them since they tried to start a fight at the drags with me cause they thought i was someone else, someone who had his name on the side of his own car so there was no reason that they shouldof started shit with me.

Wasn't that like 4 years ago and with your friends car? It just seems like your calling out Aniel by insinuating that he's 2nd best to Darren. FYI, Darren sends his stuff off just like everyone else, and was hardely capable of building his own stuff until after Aniel helped him out. I just don't think that it is necessary to come to a public forum and make comments about tools being left in the car when the problem was solved. Also, from what I heard, the car was picked up before it was even finished and taken to FFWD. If I would have been Aniel, I wouldn't have fixed the problem if I wasn't even done when the car was picked up. Also to those who associate Aniel with Humble, the reason that he left the shop was because he wasn't happy with the way things were done. Stop by his new shop at 57th and Garnett and see for yourself!

with all that said i just wanna say one last thing on this subject...
Aniel's skills/work is under rated; he's pulled himself out of a lot of crap to do what he loves. he never lied to or cheated me on anything and for that i'll be a loyal customer of his.

moving right along;

i feel dumb asking this question but since this thread is getting so much attention ::grins:: i'll just ask here...

is there a "dsm" meeting locally and if so... where/when is it?
i know the ford-probe club has one (annual event) so i'm wondering if the DSM peeps are as organized.

A few of the guys on www.okladsm.org met up a couple of months ago, and were talking about meeting up again soon. I bought my dsm back in November, but haven't met up with everyone in a while because my car has been down until now. When I had my 3G, a bunch of us used to meet up frequently. I hope to start meeting up with everyone soon. I now have about 150 miles on my new motor I built and will be driving to OKC this weekend to put some miles on my motor with another friend with a built 1G. I'd like to put a few more miles on my car before I start meeting up because I can't refrain from getting on it. I'd like to have the motor broken in by next weekend since my dsmlink will be here and I'll probably go ahead and install my boost controller at the same time. This is the 2nd motor I've built in 900 miles! Actually, when I bought the car, it started crankwalking about a thousand miles later. (the original owner installed a new carrier bearing on the crankshaft so that I wouldn't realize that the car was crankwalking) I rebuilt the crankwalked block but it went down 900 miles later. I just finished my 6-bolt and so far everything is running well.

Not to flame but its 56th and Garnett;) I think aniel does great work and has done almost everything on my car for me I think that he is very pricey and many times has promised me something and not went through with it. But he does pretty good work and his shop is literally 1/2 mile away from my house:eek:

It was my car, my 96 eclipse, he called and said it was done and i diddnt ever know darren back then. I said darren sent his stuff out. Im not associating aniel with humble, i just said why i dont work with them, and i thought that was why aniel left humble but didnt recall for sure so i diddnt post. I have been to aniels new shop and have bought stuff off him. One again im not ripping on aniel, i just said why i diddnt feel comfortable with him workin on mine. I know things have changed and i have talked to aniel recently about doin the translator. I have talked to someone here in town that talkes to aniel and he has basicly convinced me to start workin with him again if the oppurtunity comes up. but until i come up with a little money its hard to go up there and work with him. Aniel has helped me out just as much as darren, im not saying who is better then the other. ive just had more work done through darren and that is why i recommended him. RukkusGT dont i know you, name sounds familiar? and once again as my final post here im not flaming aniel, you want to get your work done there get it done there. aniel build a friends motor and did a very good job. End of convo for me and sorry for all the misunderstandings.

Hey, to all you Tulsa local guys, and especially you Mr. fastest 3G in Tulsa, yeah I remember that, we have a group of CAR entusiasts meet Friday and Saturday night, usually around midnight, at TSR at 51st and Memorial. It's just east of Memorial, I usually get up there early.

LMAO!!! As fast as it was, I now own a DSM because I was tired of getting my ass kicked by them. They are faster than hell when they run, but it seems that they (or mine anyways) rarely runs at all. I really think that this motor will be strong. I have my T-28 on the car right now, but if I'm not happy with it, I have a Big 16G that is ported to hell sitting right here next to me. I might stop out there tonight if Brett gets his clutch and tranny in. I'm waiting for him to call me back right now. I think he's scared of the 2G 6-bolt fury! :rockon:

I think that he is very pricey

ever been to car toys and asked for fiberglass work? if yoy have then you might have got their 80$+ an hour labor charge.

i'd rather pay the a cost and know my engine/service was done RIGHT the first time. that to me is the extra insurance i love having when spending a butt load of cash on the TSi.

however;
labor on engines may not be the same as a awd tranny... so next time just say what was so high cost. maybe there is a reason why (other than what ya may think).

ima shut up and junk ;-)
