the only place i can find 2g motors is the local auto parts stores... and those are refurbished... $2700 for the longblock... anyone know where to buy a cheap used 2g motor with low miles... i would like to spend about $1000-$1500 at most... i wouldnt mind doing the 6bolt swap but would that cost more????

get a 1g and do the swap, will take you like 2 extra days and maybe 200 dollars worth of parts, but you can find one with a timing belt snap in a junkyard (usually knicks on the pistons are ok) clean it up and swap the 2g head onto it (not the best thing to do but it IS the cheapest alternative)

a jdm 2g motor??? the whole thing is i want it fixed... cheap... as soon as possible... i am kinda worried about the whole 6bolt swap thing b/c people i know who have done it tell me that they cant go over 70mph some times or something like that... and is that $200 total??? never heard someone swapping a 1g into a 2g for that cheap... and how hard would it be to put a 1g longblock in my car???

Take a look in here: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/4g63motorsearch.htm

Do a search on the Parts Talk (maybe in Parts Review too) Forum for info on this topic. A while back a member started one thread in which he named a lot more places that sell engines and trannies.

Moved to Newbies Forum...

This is old and probably already delt with.. but FlashOptions (http://www.flashoptions.com) has JDM cyclone swap for 990USD (plus shipping to a port near you, then you pick it up or get it shipped from port to you). Its complete with cut harness at the firewall.
