about what does it cost to make a 4g64 with a 4g64t head?

on average, what did you guys spend, and what did you do? parts? labor? etc..

somewhere down the road (read: as soon as i have money) i was thinking of a jdm engine/tranny swap... but then i heard about this... so i'm thinking jdm tranny and maybe a hybrid engine... maybe beef it up too...

and just out of curiosity, what does it take to put an engine together? i've never done it... i'm a quick learner, and very mechanically minded... hell i'm a computer geek too.. lol... lately i've been starting to do more and more on my car myself... things that i probably wouldn't have thought i could a few months back... how do you learn to make one? just get the parts and start bolting? (please don't laugh if i sound nieve... i never had anyone around who worked on cars... i fell into this on my own, lol...) are there any special tools involved? how does one learn who doesn't know someone who already knows?

oh, and finally, what does it cost in labor to just bring the parts to a shop and have them put it together? (approx.)

if i get the parts myself, i'll be able to scour dsmtrader and boneyards, ebay, and that sorta thing... so i'll save some cash thatway...

i'm noticing that 90% of that stuff is from a 2g... i already have a working 2g engine... i can just use all the stuff from that, right? then my only cost is the block and the head, and other misc. stuff?

Yeah... You can use a LOT of the parts off a 2G 4G63T engine. About all you need different are the 94 Galant GS DOHC cam gears and timing belt. You can use your 2G 4G63T head as well.
