I heard a lot of people saying how loud this thing is but when i installed mine the only way i could hear it is if i turned the stereo and the heater off and actually "listened" for it. Install was real easy. I sprayed down the gas-line you have to crack apart the night before. Then got the proper wrenches 14mm and 19mm. I did use another wrench on top of the 14mm to get more leverage when breaking the nut loose. Then afer that it was a walk in the park! Didnt have to cut any wires. total time to install was about 30-60min. I would definetly recommend the wire upgrade.(I am sure this feul pump uses more current to run) When i am parked and turn my blinker on outside the car you can hear the pitch of the pump change in synch with the blinkers!!

waitin to do mine, just nervous about the
line from underneath not coming off. How
tight did you tighten everything after, i just dont
want any fuel leaks, shit that's all i have to
worry about

Well mine was going on a awd so everything came out from the top. If you have a fwd you may want new gaskets?
Good luck though!

I paid 120.00 for mine. Mine came with the thick rubber jacket that fits around the entire pump? I have had mine in a few days and can still barely hear it when i have my heater and stereo off.

I just installed my Walbro 255lph pump two days ago. Fuel cut is no longer a problem and the pump is very quiet. it comes with a rubber sound deadener that goes around the pump body. I cannot hear the pump when the car is running when sitting in the drivers seat. Installation was easy. Paid $105 shipped, brand new. This is were I got it.

Not a plug, but the best price I found.

I have a Walbro GSS-250 fuel pump sitting here.
Will that work in my 98 GSX? TIA

PS I just but my DSM last week and I'm loving every minute of it. I used to race Hondas but I have crossed over. I have seen the light!

I paid a total of $113 for my hp255. It is quiet as stock. I can't hear a thing from it. My car is FWD so the pump is on the rear of the tank but even when I get under the car next to the pump I can't hear it. As far as the part it self, it is a nice piece and so far works very well. I went racing the other night, the temp was around 50's or 60's and I didn't hit fuel cut like I usually would before the new pump. Definetly worth the piece of mind.

Fuel pump has nothing to do with fuel cut.

Yea I understand that it is not "supposed" have anything to do with fuel cut. Its an electrical thing not fuel pressure thing. But I don't want to get into this fuel-cut thing again it has been gone over so many times on this board LOL. "BUT" like I said at the same outside temps it does not do it any more. But on the other hand, down here in GA one day the air density can be so thick that you could probably cut through it and the next day it is so thin that it is hard to breath. I just bought a laptop for $70 and I am now looking for a datalogger cheap, so I can really see what is going on. Know what I mean.
