I was just wondering if anybody has found any good aftermarket air intakes for a 92 talon NT. Just wondering because i've only found one which was priced OUTRAGEOUS. Please lemme know. Thanks.

And to the Admin (WhoaTed) thanks for finally coming up with this forum!!! LoL.

Well I'm not sure about actual aftermarket intakes, but I would think that you could just attach a K&N to the end of your stock intake. Do the 1st gen NTs have a MAS? if so, that may be a problem. Lots of people fabricate their own intakes with a conical filter and either their stock plastic tubing or PVC pipe. it might be harder for the 4G63 though. Its more of a straight line for the 420a.
Either way, it would be freeing up the airflow much better over stock.

nah, it's not too hard making a 3" PVC pipe intake on a NT 4G63, all you need is some rubber connectors (like what turbo cars use on tehir IC pipes, but cheaper) some 3" straight PVC, and they make 45' angled PVC connector pieces that you use to make it all come together with the TB and the aircan/MAS. All this can be found at: <insert your favorite hardware store here>

it should all cost less than $30

Ryan,

Check out Weapon-R. I also have a 92 NT. I have been running the Intake for about a year 1/2. The only thing you should do is cut off that air snorkel peice to allow greater air flow. If you have questions or problems email me I have pics of my setup.

4 the 1g man buy the injen. injen stuff is the shit. its almost up there with AEM quality wise + they look phat! Weapon R to me is poor quality (not to be rude) i was going to do taht on my NT but then it got totaled so no INJEN for me. Injen makes good stuff and its not to unresonable for what it is.

oh well hope it helps

Hi

how much gain do you have with an INJEN intake tube vs. the stock accordion rubber tube??? (assuming both have an open K&N with removed air can!)

or to turn it another way : Is it worth the money???

It is a good idea to run a cold-air intake system. Iceman makes one for the n/t cars, it can be found here: http://www.ice-man.com Running an open system can actually make you lose HP in a hot engine compartment. Not to sure about this in the turbos though, dont know how far out of the way the filter is. I'd say at least fabricate some kind of seperation/heat-shield from the engine.

The Iceman is only for a 2g, the intake is on the complete opposite side of the car and actually has plenty of room to run that as a cold air with the stock airbox removed. It will not work on a 1g.
I guess with work you could make a cold air setup into the wheel well but if you would only use it at the track take the headlight out :)
