Anyone know if the 1G turbo 60mm throttle body will work on
the 2G Spyder? I was looking at the RRE site and we may share the same TB..

meant to say we MAY share the same TB as the 2G turbo (52mm) inwhich RRE show's how to swap in a 1G 60mm TB onto-

Why don't you try asking them (RRE)???;)

It "might" work if your TPS works with the 1G throttle body...

RRE didn't know. It appears as though they may be different since my TB has a lip for attaching the factory hose, and the turbo
has a metal bolt on elbow. May still work, just hoping someone had tried this before.

that would not be much of a problem, just get a rubber connector and problem solved. That's of course if you're using a metal intake pipe...

Someone on the 4g64 yahoo group did it, you have to swap IAC's and fill a hole on the TB

The idle motor on the Spyder is completely different than the 1G & 2G 4G63t cars, so you have to deal with that somehow.

However, yes, the 1G or 2G throttle body will bolt up to our intake manifold.

As was mentioned, with some work, the Spyder idle motor can be made to work on the 1G or 2G throttle body.

The other option is to use a 2G ECU. This would give you the added benefit of being able to add a knock sensor and bigger injectors for future modifications.

As was mentioned also, you'll need to get a throttle body elbow, since the connection to the intake pipe is different.

thanks Curt. I have been talking to the guys at BarNone Motorsports and they indicated the 1G NA cars have the
60mm TB that already has the lip and don't need an elbow. I will have to use my sensors
and possibly make some to use my IAC,but it should work.
I'm bidding on a few a dsmtrader and will let everyone know how
it goes. I'll port the intake to mate up too. Should be a nice
improvement if it works...

Keep us posted!!;)

Or you could try o make a VFAQ about it if you have the chance...:D

Blackboost,
I will take pics the 1gTB conversion. Should have it in
my hands next week and BarNone Motorsports will be
helping me install. I'm also having the intake ported to match
both the TB and the head. Should be some nice "ummphh".

Slight change of plans.
Part aquired:
1. HKS Eclipse turbo TB Elbow
2. 1G ISC motor (lower half of throttle body assembly)
3. BBK 62mm TB
4. Port matched intake to TB and head
5. 2G Turbo ECU (from a 97 GSX) on its way

The BBK is meant to attach
to a turbo ISC. This will mate perfectly (I hope) to the
lower half of the 1g or 2G turbo TB ISC assembly. Now to make this work,
I am swapping in the Turbo ECU so I can have the ISC functions
instead of the IAC motor. Also I have decided to turbo in the future, so might as well start somewhere I:D .
Plan to assemble all this next weekend and get some pics.

I now have a 2G turbo BBK 62mm throttle body running on
my Spyder. This is attached to a 2G or 1G ISC motor and a
HKS elbow. I had the intake manifold port matched to both the
head and new 62mm opening for the throttle body. I had
some initial problems with a bad ISC, but right now I have
disconnected the electrical plug and can run fine without it.

The performance gain is bitchen!! My throttle response increased
noticeably and I leaned out quite abit according to my pocket logger. This was the biggest HP and torque gain I have seen so far...

Pics and info on my website-
