Will a computer from a 90 non-turbo 5 speed work in a 92 non-turbo 5 speed?
thanks. :)

If you switch pins 6 and 14 it will work fine.;)

If you can find a 90 NT ecu you are lucky, you can use it with no problems, all you have to do is swap 2 wires, i've got a 91 ecu in mine, and it works but it makes the tach all goofy.

My problem is, I've seen the wires I need to switch and have also seen how much room is down there. :)
You say it makes the tach all goofy, is that the only problem it would cause? And could I fix this by switching wires under the hood instead of ones under the console?
Thanks. I have found PLENTY of 90 ecu's on eBay.
Oh yea and describe "goofy". :)

Very true, not much room, but after you wrestle the ecu out you can actually get plenty of wire to work with. Belive me on this one, i've had my ecu in and out 15-20 times in the past 2 weeks working on the NT conversion and It is easy now.

The way I understand it is it only does this putting a 91+ ecu into a 90, it has something to do with the electronics on 90's that mitsubiti found fit to change from all other years. Putting a 90 ecu into a 91+ should work fine if you switch the wires.

Goofy- strange or... :D
Ok, seriously now the tach reads fine driving at low throttle/low revs, but the moment you get on it at all the tach will bounce from 0 to the correct rpm. Finally settiling on zero, then the moment you let off the throttle it goes up to where it is supposed.

Yea, thats how it works, never find stuff when you need it.:P
PS: Sorry for the HUGE post.
