Hi guys. I dont post much, but I am in need of the above mentioned part. Traction last season was just ugly. Even with the Nitto555r's up front, the best I could swing was a 2.1 60'. Among other things, I need to get both wheels spinning this year. If anyone has managed to put in an LSD into thier 1g fwd a/t, please post your experiences.

I'm planning to ditch some of my current mods like the small 16g, small buschur fmic, and nitto's, and swap in a nice big SBR turbo, a big fmic and some MT ET streets. But it might all a waste if I cant get rid of the peg leg situation. I really want my fwd to keep up with my awd friends here in New England DSM. After driving my awd talon all winter I am getting hooked on this whole traction thing :) Thanks guys

I just saw it the other day. JC Whitney has kit from phatom grip that turns your stock dif into a lsd. The kit is for 90-99 and is listed for $319.95

I've seen them advertised as well. Let me try to be more clear in my request. I am asking for feedback from people that have ACTUALLY INSTALLED any brand of lsd on thier front wheel drive, auto trans, first gen, DSM. FWIW, Turbotrix has the same thing for $200. That doesn't mean it is proven to work on my particular car. I am hoping to avoid being an uncompensated test subject for one of these vendors. Thanks though Bubba.

ok sorry about that. Just to let you know that is one of the mods on my list when my talon gets on the road along with the shift kick so I will keep you posted on install.:)

Have they written you or given any confirmation that it will work with a 1g a/t fwd car? I have written to all the vendors I know of (Quaife, Phantom, BM) asking this question and have yet to recieve a response. If I am able to gather any factual information I will post it here for anyone else looking to do this mod. Looks like one of us might be the first to actually install an LSD in a 1g fwd a/t car. I am rather surprised at this, but then again, it is fun to be a groundbreaker.

no i haven't talk to them, but just using my better judgement the add doesn't state otherwise that it wouldn't work on our at. I will try to find out aswell. I will keep you posted if I can get a direct answer from them.

This just in from the folks at Kaaz:

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for your email. We do not produce any lsd units for front
drive vehicle with automatic tranny. As far as we know, no manufacturers
produce any unit for front drive automatic.
Best Regards,
Ray / Kaaz USA

As Butters would say "nutsack"

No wonder nobody replied with info from a completed install

I have asked this question before but with the 2G's and some people HAVE put a spring type LSD like the BM or phantom grip unit in their A/T's. I am interested in any issues people have had too with these units.
