Painting car...

So, anyone got any tips for repainting a car? I'm looking to repaint my 90 Eclipse probably all black. What do i do after i sand? What kinda primer, etc.

check out the new Super Street magazine (...I know!) for the article on repainting. It may be helpful and it is actually pretty well written I thought.

Can you paint?...REAL paint. Not spray can. Have you ever painted an auto before? I have not seen the article greenstreak mentioned...but, if you've painted a little bit and are SERIOUS, I will e-mail you a "process." Some will say painting cars is easy; it is easy IF you know what you are doing. If you are new to paint, I would find a painter friend, honestly.

yeah, im serious. In fact i've painted with "real" paint before. A handful of body pieces, and an accord. My spray technique is getting better. Well, if u could email me a process, i'd appreciate it. Thanks!

You should have it, I sent it a minute ago. You know I lived in Hawaii for four years some time ago. My dad was stationed at NavMag Lualalei(sp?) I lived in the Ewa Beach area. I had some good times in Hawaii. We painted my mom's '69 Firebird convertible there. It was a real custom job. Pearl white and candy apple red. We also painted my datsun p/u, and my dad's Austin Healey 3000 while there. I used to paint cars for some of the marines for $$ at the auto hobby shop they had on base.
