no one makes an intake kit for the 4G64 Spyder, at this
time anyway.. You can hack intake piping for another engine
and buy a 2G Turbo MAS adapter and put a K&N filter which
will greatly improve your airflow. I built a homemade
heatsheild/mount for mine. You can check it out at my website.

Does anyone make anything at all specifically for the Spyder 4G64? Just curious.

One of my friends just slaped on an air filter to his GSX's intake manifold and when we go to the track he runs it with out the filter. It does give him more power and a better track time but it damages the engine faster.

Okay... this is an old post but maybe it will help someone in the future.
Now I don't have a spyder, but I do have a 4G64 in my Galant. Here's a cheap ass easy way to make a cold air intake for your, or any car with a similar layout. Here's what I did. Since I already had the Weapon R short ram... I had all sorts of extra stuff to play with when I went to do this. BE WARNED. I bought a cold air intake for a V6 eclipse ($40 eBay) cause it had lots of nice LONG piping. Which you will need. Follow along...
~WeaponR reducer to throttle body.
~WeaponR 3" intake pipe to MAF
~WeaponR reducer for MAF to 3" WeaponR pipe.
just like you were putting on the weaponR...easy...
*From here its all the stuff from the V6 intake...
~new MAF *HARD PLASTIC* reducer that bolts to MAF.
(K, tricky part, see that little flap that sticks off the front of the MAF? Its bolted to the honey comb... 4 little screws? TAKE IT OFF.)
Now bolt that plastic reducer on there so its pointing towards your fender. It's tilted, did you notice? MAKE SURE its tilted towards the passenger fender. If you don't take off the flap, it will only bolt on the wrong way.)
~spark time. See your lil' battery tray? See the holes the right next to it? Kinda looks like 3 little circles touching? Your going to have to trim out the center to accomadate that pipe so... either get out a dremel, or other cutting implement and get to it. (Paint it when your done so it doesn't rust...)
~NOW... For those of you with common sense your looking at the V6 pipe and going... no way man... well duh, your going to cut it. Yeah, your brand new intake. With a saw. Now I eyed it up and cut it perfect the first try just by guessing. The idea is to have the end with the bung for your valve cover getting CUT OFF. As the curve from the other end of the pipe if positioned right will hug the inside of the body and come in line with the MAF. Test fit a few times to get an idea of what I mean.
~The end down in your lil hole you cut is where you will attatch your filter.
Make sure you take space into account here as well as above when measuring up where to cut that pipe. Take out everything you have to,to size it up. Triple check everything. This is not an easy fit. If your off your screwed.
~Now use the other reducer for the MAF to the V6 intake pipe.
~Attach filter.
Make sure you check everything.
**If you are starting with stock airbox. Your experience will be different. But I'm sure you could make it work using the piece you cut from the longer pipe where you connect to the throttle body. You will need a few extra hose clamps (bigger) and ATLEAST one extra reducer! Cause you have to get one that will stretch over the back of the MAF to connect a pipe to.**
~~I am not responsible for you fucking either yourself or your vehicle up~~

And to the above post... A GSX is a turbo car, the filter is connected to the inlet side of the TURBO... not the intake manifold. The intercooler piping/hose will then go from the compressor discharge pipe to the intercooler. Then back up to the throttle body elbow, which is bolted to the throttle body, which is bolted to the INTAKE manifold. Ask yourself this question... if you attatched a filter to the intake manifold, which is where all that compressed air is supposed to be going from the turbo... where is all the compressed air going?
~I know! Into the heater... THATS WHY IT BLOWS HOT AIR! :D and that fan knob must be a "boost controller" right?~ just funnin'
