Could you post some pix? I wanna get some 17s in the near future and I was wondering what style rims would look good on my car (5 spoke, mesh, etc.) Thanks.

I would suggest that you visit www.tirerack.com. (http://www.tirerack.com.) They have a program that will show you your car and all rims that are applicable with prices. It is pretty cool. You can click on a rim and it will show you a picture of a '92 Talon with the rims you click on.

Yeah I know about the tire rack but I was hoping to see some real cars. The view that the tire rack gives you sux. You cant tell by that what the rims would look like on the car in real life. I know someone has to have rims on their 1G! :)

I agree, tire rack doesn't give you the real look of a rim on your car. Here is a pic of some Niche Shocking Shocks on my car. If you want to see more angles, check www.geocities.com/reddevil56. (http://www.geocities.com/reddevil56.) if you want to see some phat five stars check www.geocities.com/scotts_talon (http://www.geocities.com/scott_talon) out. Good luck. ps type the urls in, the hyperlinks don't work all the time.

I have 17" 1998 GSX wheels on my car, I think they look great for the $500 I spent on em, that was with tires too. I have trouble getting myself to pay $1200 plus just to make the outside of my car look good. I just want to make it fast.

(I had to spend the $500 though, because those stock wheels are just sooo ugly! What was Mitsu thinking...)

I just so happen so Sell ROH rims and Snypers are a rim we are going to start a group buy on

Hey guys since we are on the subject of wheels...what can I find in a 16x8 (or 8.5) or 17x8 that will be cheap (as cheap as you can find) for auto-x...don't care how they look. Anyone ever try using (god-forbid) mustang 17" wheels?

Stock '90+ 300zx wheels are great for autox. Rear TT wheels are 16x8.5 and the rest are 16x7.5 and they weigh only about 18lbs. The best place to find some is the for sale section of www.twinturbo.net (http://www.twinturbo.net)

to Frisco...

I have a set of 17" non-chrome wheels from a 2000 Chrysler 300m. I know the bolt pattern is the same as DSMs. Dont know about fitment and problems (if any). Almost brand new, willing to sell cheap. Dont have tires for them, thats why Im selling, 17" tires are too expensive for me to buy at the moment. Im selling for $199, you pay S+H. E-mail me if interested, can show you pictures of the rims if you tell me how to work my computer.

Anyone try 18's on a 1G? I think 17's are still a bit small for the wheel gap on this car. Anyone???

greenstreak
10-23-2000, 11:00 PM
when you go up to 18s the sidewall of the tire lessens so I don't know how much of the wheel gap it would fill over the 17's.

Ive been savin some cash for a nice set of wheels, and I was goin to buy a set off my friends stealth. After I saw some of the pics Ive changed my mind.
I got sick of stopin to pick up my hubcaps off the road so, I ripped them off and painted the stock wheels and it looks much better for now.

Firestarter, That thing is one of the most beautiful 1Gs I have ever seen. Is that the stock paint? If not what color is that. The graphics go well with it too.

Also, how do you keep those headlights so clear??

Thanks for the nice comments Alpha :) and yes I still have the stock paint from the factory and is forest green and I just clean my car at least 4 times a week and I wash my car once every 5 months as long that it dosen't rain, sometimes longer I just keep on dusting it and get rid of those pesky fingerprints :D and about the headlights I just clean it with glass cleaner everytime I dust my car.

Firestarter that pic is reaal cool. I like the wheels a lot.
Did you add the twinkles in photoshop? there cool too.

I'd post a pic of my car with 16" Stern racing wheels but then I'd have to wash my car....., dig out the digital camera....., upload pics.. etc.
They look ok. not great. Wheel selection with 1g's seems to be hard to do correctly. I think 17's are a must and 5 spokes too.
