Brakes?

OK I am upgrading my brakes and need to know if I have ABS or not. How can I tell if I have them or not? There is no indicator light, so how can I tell? I don't want to slam on my brakes with my not so cheap 18" tires, if ya know what I mean. Any other way to find out?

if there is no ABS light in your dash at start up then i am almost 99% sure you do not have them

I went to http://www.2gnt.com and went to the specs for the stock RS and GS, and it says there is no ABS light. Even if you have ABS.

well, i am sure you do not wanna take those rims off and check the brakes, so i would personally bring the car to your local mitsu. dealer and get them to look up your car to see if it came with it. to be easier i would goto the dealer you got the car from if you got it from one, because they should have the records of the car in the computer.

The ABS unit is located in the fender well in front of the drivers side front tire. Its this big metal thing. Also you can pull your fuse box top in the engine compartment and see if the ABS fuse is there if it isn't you don't have ABS.

Wait for a rainy day on a dirty road and then lock up the brakes. LoL. Just kiddin!!
