Is It worth getting a used turbo?

And If I got a turbo for say $700 I would need an intercooler to be installed with it right?

Damn Im such a newbie to this stuff.

:D

well what kinnda dsm you got?, and yes garrit is nice.if you have a 2g turbo goto modacar.com and look at there packages you can get a Full HKS (which is NICE) turbo kit with full hks front mount intercooler kit, and i think a HKS cat-back for like 3000$ but you can get it without the catback for like 2000 somthing. after that i would reccomend a new fuel pump and injectors for tuning purpose's. (and this is all brand spankin new :) ) now used is what i was talking about for 1500 but you could prolly find a turbo kit without an intercooler for about 1000 new. and then check into getting a used factory eclipse/talon intercoolers for maybe 200 to 500 bucks which is not to bad.

You could get a used talon/eclipse intercooler for $75/$100 if you look hard enough

I'm planning on "turbo-ing" my 99 GS and I have been doing ALOT of research. I have come to the conclusion that the HRC turbo system is the best for most applications. It is available without an intercooler for $2195 and with an smic for $2495, both plus installation. It comes with a Mitsubishi/Hahn TD-05H Super 16G turbo, and everything else needed to do the install. Hahn has done alot of testing with this setup and specializes in the 420a motor.

There site is here: http://www.turbosystem.com

Good Luck!

also, if you decide to go with the HRC kit, call hahn and find an authorized dealer/installer near you. It's a good idea to have them install the kit even if it requires you to drive and stay at a hotel for a few days. I'm going to end up driving about 1 1/2 hours to get mine installed, no need for a hotel, but still a nice little drive. It should take an installer no more than 3 days max to do the install.
