View Full Version : How do I get the torque converter off?!?

I've been trying for a while now, how do I get this thing off?? The tranny is already off I just need to get the torque converter and flywheel off now. Any suggestions?

There might be some bolts holding it on, like 6 or 7 of them. I am not postive though.
This should probably be in the Automatic Transmission Help Section, you'd get a better response in there.

3 bolts hold the torque converter to the driveplate (triangular shaped part)

Toefungus, the torque converter is normally removed WITH the transmission. Do yourself a favor and do not attempt to install them separately as immediate SERIOUS damage will occur.

Damage will also occur if the tranny is removed with out the TC at the same time.

Yeah.. It could.. Thanks.. Although I don't know how anyone could even get the tranny off with the TC still atached to the engine..

The TC is still attached to the engine. The tranny slid right off without it. I haven't had a chance to try to get it off again, which I'll be doing tommrow. Thanks for the help.
