I have a 98 GST with upper i/c piping 1st gen BOV, air filter, MBC @17psi, 2.5 downpipe no cat 3in ATR exhaust, stock t25, and some damn tires called "Roadhuggers" at 23.5lbs of pressure. But i'm running a best of 15.0. 90 degrees out side. I know i'm at least a full second off what i think i could run. i think i could run maybe 14.1 or 14.3. Would this be because of my tires. What tires would be the best? I heard of 555's are these good and by what company.

Yeah, you should be a whole lot faster than a 15.0, 90* or not.

The best way to tell is by looking at your 60' times from your timeslips. Post the *full* results of your timeslips and we can help you a lot more.

I guess you mean the Nitto NT555 Drag Radials. They're supposed to be awesome, though I've never used them.

I have used nitto DR's (225-50-16) and yes they grip a lot better than your average tire, but with the FWD open diff only one of them will spin at a time wich turns out to crappy 60ft's no matter how good your tires are.

Best 60ft with the DR's: 2.3

BTW they don't last very long (100 threadwear rating) and they suck in the rain.

That is a damn good 60' for a FWD, so it don't look like your tires. Next time you go to the track either run pure race gas, or run LOWER BOOST. It looks like your problem is power lose due to the high temps causing heat soak of your IC. The heat soak will cause knock, and this causes the ECU to pull back timing.

Damn good 60's on street tires (not drag radials) is 2.2-2.3, drag radials 2.0-2.2, and slicks is 1.7-1.8. My personal best on streets is 2.117, drag radials is 1.995, and I haven't run slicks yet. My technique is pretty damn simple, rev it to 4700-5000 RPM, dump the clutch and feather the throttle to keep it on the edge of wheelspin. I don't suggest this unless you've done subframe polyurethane bushings. I wheelhop very little if at all, but without those bushings I'd be hopping through the 100' mark.

That's a nice 60ft and an even better reation time!

I can see that you are loosing power at the top end or you are shifting into 4th gear. I usually run in the 9.7 range @ 75mph or so at the 1/8, and almost always I accelerate 20mph by the time I reach the 1/4. You accelerate 16 mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4, that's why I think you should run quicker by looking at your 1/8 et.

The nitto drag radials work the best. I have used bfg drag radials and they suck. The bfg really suck in the rain, even worse if you have used them a couple of times already at the track.Just my .02 cents.

PepBoys Brand rocks.. lol :D, I pull 2.2 on these, very nice for street tires. I know a lot of buddies who pull 2.4 in the 60', like my buddy with the 13.1 automatic, his best 60' is 2.45. Look at me and my cheap pepboys tires pull 2.2's all day long :) . I actually pulled a 2.71 with the stock continental once.
