View Full Version : RX-7 injectors that work and are dirt cheap!

OK for some this may be an old subject but i figured i would try to help those that have ben needing bigger injectors and thought about using the RX-7's TII injectors but didnt want to get the wrong type. I read about all the post on this subject and did alot of searching until i came across people that post and were using the right injectors off the RX-7's . Which are the 86-early 87 Turbo cars. They use the low impediance 550cc injectors. That Denso part number is 195510-1370 . I then went to my local Advance Auto parts and checked on a set for the 86-87 turbo RX-7's . Advance had a set of Beck/Rnley remanufactured injectors for 57.00 a piece. So i ordered four for a 240.00 plus tax. The part number for thoser are 155-0234 which cross references with the 195510-1370. The injectors fit perfect and the tab for the wiring harness connectors is correct . All i had to do was was adjust my SAFC. I have my lower honey comb removed and adjusting screw flushed so i richen up the idle with the AFC. I am still tuning and doing pocketlogger runs but mostly i have thigs set up around +30 1K to +15 at 4K on the Lo TH. The car so far is running great and guess what?? No more Fuel cut!! And only 2-3 counts of knock at 16 PSI with 19-20 timing..Hope this helps
That sounds interesting. These are 100% plug and play?

550's are only like 210 off the trader - sometimes new

Yes but for someone who doesnt wanna deal with the trader, and rather would trust their local parts store, then this is a great deal. But I have one question, if they are 57 a piece, and you want 4 of them
57x4=228? Where did this 240 price come from? Maybe you meant after tax was paid, which means an even better deal for you Delaware folks :).
That to me isnt bad at all for a guaranteed set of brand new 550cc injectors, in fact its a great deal IMO. Good job man
Hey, you know what, I believe the 82 GXL model or whatever came with 680cc injectors, the problem was they were only 2 per car so you have to find 2 cars. But if you could manage to buy them from advance auto etc, then perhaps we could get 680cc injectors for the same price. And yes these injectors were straight drop ins as well. It'd be worth looking up....

Are they the ones that are considered centered tab or the offset tab?

The price was after tax--my fault. The tab were centered just like the stock 450's i pulled off and yes i did check on the 680's off the older RX-7's but the price was about the same as a set of aftermarket ones so i didnt go that route. So far they are working great but i am still tuning with my AFC. Overall i am very pleased with them!

The 680's (some say they're 720's) are from the GSL-SE. It was only made in 84-85.

I almost bought an 86 Turbo II. I believe it was released a little late, but it was still an 86.

Some people buy used ones but the problem with getting them used is the spray pattern isn't very good because they are old and worn out.
Hey Deth whats up. Where in Kansas are you from?

Brought this back from slumber because I ordered a set using that part number ( 155-0234 ) and they worked out amazingly. My friend who works at Kragen got them at a discount so out the door after tax they only came out to $175 for a brand new set of 550's. Can't beat that new or used on ebay or elsewhere. My fuel trims went from 115 to 85 instantly, and having to run +20 on my safc for 16psi went to +4. Thanks for the tip and they are definetly drop in. No modding needed. They look taller only because the middle section starts higher then the stock 450's. Thanks guys!

I ordered the injectors online yesterdayand today I checked on the status- order cancelled. They didnt even bother to notify me.

ya i was going to order them too yesterday but decided to email them first and make sure they were in stock, last night he returned my email and said they were out of stock, i also emailed them causs they had new flywheels listed for like 40 bucks but they were also out of them, there injector invitory relys on customers returning the core injectors so that they can be rebuilt and then resold, so we should all check our local junkyards for these cars and get the injectors out of them then send them away to them for cheap rebuild.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but did anyone ever get these 195500-0900 680cc injectors from a parts store? Am I better off to just sack up, pay the price, and get them new from a DSM place?
