55 psi tire pressure is a bad idea. You want flexibility in the side wall of the tire. I'm not familiar with that particular tire but you might want to try dropping the tirepressure by 10 psi per run until you find where you get an optimum launch.
As for technique, there are two schools of thought: dump the clutch at moderate RPM or slip the clutch while applying throttle. I've had success doing both, but I've also destroyed a few clutches doing the later. The first method is easier on my clutch and a lot less touchy once you find where the ideal launch RPM is for your car.

When I launched with street tires I found that about 20 psi on the front was the best. You want them to be deflated so that they get the best grip off the line. Pump your back one s up though.

55psi???
That seems like way too much. Especialy for drag racing. Definetly try lowering the pressure like dsm4eva suggested. At the track you might want to use half that pressure. for street driving im at around 35 and thats more than the factory manual suggests.
Other than that i don't know jack about fwd

55 psi? WTF are you thinking? :) Lower that pressure ASAP before you have a blow out! If you looked at the side wall, that pressure is the MAXIMUM the tire can take befor failing (car fully loaded, and tires hot from driving). If your tires read that when cold, they are reading higher when hot, and are in great danger of blowing out. Allways go with the inflation pressure listed on the sticker on the door for normal driving, and don't go less than 20 psi on normal tires for drag racing.

Sorry for sounding like an echo but 55psi is WAAAAYYYYYY too much. Even for regular street driving that will more than likely cause problems. For racing I would lower that by at the least 25 psi. You want the tire to be somewhat deflated so the sidewalls can be flexible. This will let the tire conform to the ground giving you a bigger patch of rubber making contact to the ground. Also what you might wanna try is getting fatter tires for the front when you are racing.

55psi..... your tires arent supposed to match the speed limit....lol
anyways, back in the day i was runnin 18-22psi in my GST and still runnin consistent 1.9-2.0 60' times with stock clutch

We need to keep in mind that in a modern radial tire, when the pressure is lowered, the tread will squeeze together, which can result in a weaker contact patch, so be careful when reducing pressure, because you can end up with worse times.

so then what is the optimum clutch-dump RPM? I realize things are dependant on temps/track/tires...but what have you all found to be best for the race dump....and then what???
