60 ft: 2.31 sec
330 ft: n/a
1/8 E/T: 9.184 sec
1/8 MPH: 82.15
1/4 E/T: 13.830 sec
1/4 MPH: 104.14 mph

This was before I got my drag radials. Since then I've had a 2.1 sec 60 ft with a 13.9 E/T even with hitting the brakes to prevent from overshooting my dial in of 14.1 (didn't hit them early enough).

Speed mods include:
-K&N airfilter
-Mike J MAF mod
-removed aircan
-HKS UIC pipe and elbow
-custom boost controller (20 psi)
-Accel 8mm wires
-Walbro 255 L/hr HP pump
-fuel pump rewire
-ACT 2600lb clutch with street disc
-lightened flywheel
-intercooler sprayer
-2.5" mandrel bent downpipe with flex section
-2.5" high flow cat
-2.25" mandrel bent Dynomax Super Turbo cat back
-2 x 225/50 RA1 drag radials on stock mesh rims at 18~20 psi
-remove cat for open exhaust past downpipe
-remove passenger headlight assembly for ram air
-datalogger

I'm rac'n again this weekend and will make a heat sheild and advance the base timing before then. Should hit a 13.5~13.6 this year yet.

Notice no turbo, intercooler or real engine mods. Doesn't take much to make these things fast. Also notice the 104 mph trap speed. That makes me as fast once moving as a high 12 second rear wheel drive monster V8.

Nothing to brag about here, I was almost completely stock, and at high elevation.

15.31 @ 92mph

K&N filter, no can
Boost at 13psi

Since then, I have gotten an UIP, and a new boost controller is in the mail (Joe P). Then I can up the boost. Also that was only my second time.

Nowhere to go but up...

I just read the long post about FWD vs. AWD. I understand both sides and I respect and envy the AWD platform immensely when it comes to drag racing and handling in adverse weather. But this post is to find out what fellow FWD DSM'ers like myself are running in the 1/4 mi. Please post your complete times (R/T, 0-60', 1/4 ET, 1/4 MPH) to the best of your memory or off timeslips. These times can either be personal bests or avg, just indicate which. And please list the mods at which the times were achieved. Thanks

Gonna race this weekend with Brode 1G UIP, fuel pump rewire, psi@17(?) i'll post new results.

Dammit QUAD!!!! I actually had ya beat tehre for about 10 seconds until i read your post!! I went racing last night and posted a 13.70@99 on a 2.15 0-60'. but that was with new Brode UIP and 17psi. Still got the crappy wheels up front with lots of hop and spin!! hehe I'm sure i could have gone faster given more runs. Only got 5 in though. I wheel hopped first and had to get out of it so my time could have been better.

DSM4eva: i would like more info on the poly bushings as well. And I gotta run 20G with 25psi to get into the 12's?? Damn!!!! Too much money for me!! lol Way to go and keep the FWD's in the hunt.

The more rigid the subframe, the displacement from back and forth weight transfer decreases. The ideal drag setup is to bolt the subframe solid to the frame but it is pretty harsh if you have to drive it as an actual means of transport. I would suggest at a bare minimum to do the full subframe, control arms, and swaybar. I did the rear swingarm but that was a MFer on a Michigan car (read: tons of broken bolts). Basically after doing this mod, wheel hop became almost non-existant until I stepped up to Nittos. I've been told by other FWDers that the next step, slicks, will even decrease wheelhop more.

My best time with my 93 FWD is a 13.6@103.5 MPH. My 60' was 2.03.
My best MPH is 105.5

Mods are:

K&N filter
Mike J. MAS Mod :D
2.5" exhaust from downpipe to tip, no cat
ported 95+ exhaust manifold
Greddy Profec A boost controller set at 16 psi on stock turbo
M/T 15" slicks
Front strut tower bar
At the time I had a mix of 2/3 94 octane and 1/3 race gas.

You're runnin slicks and you're still getting 2.0+ 60's? Or was it just that run? What is your launch RPM? Warm up the tires any?

My best 60 foot has been 2.02. I launch at about 4000-4500 rpm but if I go WOT on my first gear it seems the slicks will spin a bit. I have 15 inch slicks and they are 8 inches wide. What is a good 60 foot time for my kind of setup?
What launching technique do you recommend? I realize my 60 foot times are not all that great

i'm getting a set of retreads later this week hopefully. Right now with those skinny front street tires, i'm pulling low 2.2x in the 0-60'. MY best is 2.141 with a 13.70 ET, but my MPH is down. Fastest i've hit is 102. I'm hoping to get into at least 1.9 range with the retreads. How much more would i pick up going with slicks over green dot retreads??
As for launch technique, i launch around 3700 rpm and slip the hell out of the clutch until i feel it grab. Then apply 3/4 throttle, shift into second with same 3/4 until 1/2 halfway through 2nd then hammer it!! I'm running about 20psi with 205/55/16's up front. I'll let everyone know how i do once i get the retreads. Just gotta find some 300zx rims to mount those retreads on.
