What book exactly? I have Chilton's. How do I run the codes? What does my clear tails have to do with anything?

You can check the codes yourself on the Chrysler engine.
Put the key in the ignition, turn it all the way to on but don't start, turn all the way off. Do this three times within 10 sec, leave it ON the last time. The check Engine
light will blink out the codes. (count the blinks write down the number, a pause means the begining of a new code.)
55 is the end of the codes.
What the codes mean can be found here http://www.2gnt.com.

the key dance will only work if you're 97 or newer. The full sheet of trouble codes is at:

Works on some if not all 96's, I thought the key dance only worked with 97 or older?

I'm sure that's what Dark ONe meant.
95-96...you can use the key dance.
97+...Get a datalogger or take it in the arse from the dealer or a mechanic.
http://www.obd-2.com for a $100 datalogger.
Alos, take a lot of these questions over to:
http://www.2gnt.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi
There'll be a larger group of people from which to pick brains from of possibly what your problem is.

That's 97 or OLDER... i know it doesn't work with 98-99's, maybe not even with the 97's.
