Well, I had planned on trading in the Spyder for a turbo dsm, but it looks pretty clear that it's not going to happen. So on a whim I checked ebay for prices on turbos and it looks like the 14b turbos are relatively cheap, anywhere from $50-300 used. If I am looking to turbocharge my 4G64 on a budget, how much will everything else most likely run me? I know Curt's page lists an overall price, but I don't think it has it all broken down. Thanks.

Don't spend over $150 on a 14b. You can get a very nice 14b for that price - perhaps even rebuilt.
You're still looking at around $1500-$2000 total on a budget to do it correctly. The estimates on my page take into account used parts and good deals. That includes using older parts like the 1G exhaust manifold and O2 housing. Nothing wrong with them - it's just that the 2G pieces are better. I used 1G pieces (and still have them if interested) on my car when I first did the transformation.

Awesome, that's actually cheaper than the price difference around here for a turbo DSM, it'll actually be cheaper to turbo my car then to buy one that already has it, go figure :dunno: Is the 14b a decent turbo for this application, as said earlier, I'm not looking to race, just to get some more power.

It's a bit small for the 2.4l engine, but it will do the job well at low boost levels. I personally bought a used small 16g for (if I remember correctly) around $400 used on www.dsmtrader.com.
