Conventional 20G vs. BR20G - REAL ANSWER?

Hey, I need to find out the deal on this before I go get a 20G, and BR refuses to tell me which turbine wheel they use in the BR20G.

MOST shops sell 20Gs for around $1050 - which is what BR used to charge for their BR20G. Most of these shops use the Td05H exhaust wheel.

Question is, does BR use a TD06 exhaust wheel or TD05H.

I THINK he does run the TD05H exhaust wheel. Here is the text from his sight:

"This specially modified TD05/6 Hybrid 20G"

-Ok well it obviously doesnt use Td05 compressor section at all so he must use the TD05 exhaust wheel right?

But I need a REAL answer, no stupid guesses, or someone who doesnt have one saying it has one or the other from what they heard from some other guy! This would be a great help! Thanks

TD05H. Huge clip like 23-25 degrees.

dont clip your 20g...especially that much. effieciency goes to hell, pick a better sized turbo if you want more top end.

If he buys a BR20G he doesnt have a choice. It just comes that way.

go td06-20g with no clip. my buddy just put one on his gvr-4. all i can say is holy shit!! you can get this setup from almost any shop for around 1000 or less. dont clip a turbine wheel, it destroys the physics of the turbo and the way it was designed to flow.

What sort of RPM does he see full boost? If I can get full boost by 4K that would be awesome :)

Thanks man.

Properly tuned, you should see full boost at or slightly before 4k. Even back when I was running a TD06H turbine based 20G I was seeing full boost at 4K on 9.0:1 compression.

4k? not even. my buddies gvr-4 gets 22 psi by around 37-3800 rpm. just got back from the track last night, he posted a 12.4 @112.8:eek: his car weighs 3400 lbs with him in it. gotta love the td06-20g. if they werent so damn expensive, id own one...

Thanks for the info man. I'm really quite interested in these 20G's. I had thought big16G for the longest time, but with the crappy knock-happy gas around here and the cost of race gas it would be hard trying to get big numbers without really raising the boost. The GM MAF mod makes me think I could get sooner spool up than previously possible too... hmmm :)
