Well, I got some MCCC from my local dodge dealer for $5.50 a can. They quoted me that over the phone, but when I got there, they wanted $7.50.
Anyways, I have been following the MCCC threads since I got my DSM about a year ago.
I took out the spark plugs, and sprayed as evenly as I could into each 4 pistons. I only did 1 bottle because I am a wuss, and kinda nervous about the whole procedure.
I got a simple hand pump from autoparts store. I only let it sit for about 1 hr, because of a post I read. They figured if it sits all night, it will seep past the rings, and let the crud dry back onto the pistons.
When I pumped the stuff out it came out black and gooky. Each time I thought I got all the gunk out, I would try again, and get a bunch.
To make sure i got all the MCCC + gunk out before starting car, I placed a towel over the spark plug holes. Then I cranked the car for 10 secs. I would check the towel, rotate it and repeat, until there was no more liquid spots on the towel.
Then I let the car sit overnight, to make sure anything else dried.
In the morning, the car started fine, but with smoke out the back. I drove to the oil place and got it all changed.
RESULTS:
Before, in mornings my car would tick like a helicopter. Recently, my knock LED would stay constant, and I figured it was from the ticking.
Also, when I would accelerate, it would feel kinda jumpy, like maybe it was missing.
NOW:I no longer have ticking, my knock LED hasnt come on at all and my acceleration is smooth.
I must admit, there is still crud on my pistons - I saw it before I replaced the plugs, but I didnt wanna over do it. I will probably go back for my next oil change, and finish the job.
I did not put any MCCC into the intake, PCV or anything else - and it did remove the ticking for me.
92 Tsi - 114,000 miles.
