ordered from MachV.com, came same week i ordered it.
i have a 91 gsx with new syncros and new 1st and 2nd gears. my tranny stil shifts like shit and will often crunch (syncro noise) and sometimes grind going into 2nd.
to install i removed the entire center counsel and pushed into the passenger seat. then removed the screws going into the carpeting on each side and removed a metal plate on the driver's side in front of the e-brake permanently. Installation was a snap with a handle 12mm socket and extended ratchet. Remove and replace old rubber grommets with new metal washers, simple. I found it easy to cut the bottom half of the grommet and hold onto what you cut and pull it out. Also, replacing a metal sleeve with the one supplied which is suppose to have less slack.
Took it out for a drive and instantly noticed much crisper shifting. It felt like what i imagine a gate shifter on the italian cars is like. Very precise and *CRISP* feel, with very little play side to side. Much improved over sloshy, unconfindent shifting as before. Stil grinded on the 2-3 shift when racing once though, doh!
a little overpriced for what you get id say, but unless you feel like fabricating your own, id say its worth it. hopefully some BG syncroshift will cure some of my 2nd gear blues.
