My g/f has a 2001 Galant..I know it's 4 cyl. but is it the 4G64? if so..what kind of mods can be done would I receive nice gains?

Yes, it has a 4G64 engine on it. The only difference between this Galant and the pre-200 ones is that this 4G64 engine got flipped 180 degrees on the engine bay. Still the basic mods (air filter, exhaust, etc.) should work. Doug Dynopower even makes a turbo kit for this engine.

Straight..I doubt she'd let me slap a turbo on it. I've finally convinced her to put an exhaust & intake. Thanks for answering my question.

Is there a bolt on exhaust for the Galant..or will I have to have it cut and welded?

I believe there are some choices. Start by checking http://www.roadraceengineering.com since the 2000+ Eclipse shares the same motor and chassis.
