Hey there. I've recently been doing a lot of research on rebuilding the bottom end, and I'm trying to gather as much information. I'm new to this, and I have a few questions I saw your post about Thrust bearing clearance, and preloading the crank. In my 7-bolt there is a main cap girdle, not an individual cap for the thrust bearing. so how do I tap the cap torwards the clutch? also when you use the screw driver to push the crank towards cylinder one, is that by wedging it between the block and a counter balance? Also the torque specs on the rod bolts is 14.5 plus 90 more degress. After I plastigage the bearings, I'd want to torque them down to the same specs as when I used the plastigage and got a good clearance...but how would I know that the clearance is the same. It 14.5 plus 90 going to be fine? Also is there any advice or points you would recommend to me? I'm a little worried about missing a vital step.
    Thanks a lot,
    Dane
