Ok so i am not sure exactly what the issue is with my transmission so I thought i would throw it up here and see if anyone has an idea.... I purchased a 92 eclipse gs pretty clean runs almost flawlessly...except it wont stay it 2nd gear. it will shift into 2nd but as i let the cluch out its almost like it pops out of gear. any thoughts or suggestions
Chances are the hub/slider assembly is shot and it needs a trans rebuild. It comes from when synchros go bad from clutch dragging or just tons of miles and people force the car to shift through the grinding and it eventually rounds off the teeth that the hub slider lock into (don't know the technical term).
Also please make an effort to use caps/punctuation as it is very annoying to read and it is well laid out in the rules...
Thank you, and I will work on the punctuation and capitalization of my posts... With that being said, any ideas on where to buy the rebuild kit? Thank you again.
Emailing Jack @ Jack's Transmissions is the way to go. He'll tell you what is causing the issue and what most likely needs repaired. I'm sure he can quote you what it would cost to fix as well.
