1g AWD drivetrain differences...

Ok I have a 91 GSX that someone had taken off the axles,t case and tranny and the driveshaft off of. So it has the 3 bolt AWD rear end. I am just trying to get the AWD system back again. What are the parts I need that would mesh. Also PM if you have any to sell. Thanks, Aaron. 940-882-2308

You would need parts from a 90-92.5 AWD. in 93 they went to different spline T-Cases and axles.

Ok well who is right here? I really would love to know where to start. The driveshafts are the same right?

The year trans isn't so much important, as is the splines on the output shaft. That MUST match the transfer case, or they ain't going together. 90 and early 91 was a 22spline output shaft. late 91-94 was 23spline. That doesn't mean that much either as you can you put either output shaft into any year trans and make it work. Takes 10 min. to swap output shafts. The driveshafts are all the same.

I stand corrected. I was thinking trannys. 93-94 have a bigger splined tranny.

Will the axles differ in years as well?
