Just curious about what time has told and changed.

So I remember way back when, when I had my DSM, everyone and their brother who had a 7bolt was going to a 6 bolt. I was just curious to see if people have started finding parts and combos that have worked well with 7 bolts. I'm picking up a 2g GSX in the next couple of days and have thought about swapping a 6 bolt, but at the same time couldn't help but ponder if over time people have started doing more research in to it and have had equal luck building 7 bolts or better luck.

At least 60% of the 4g63's I build are 7bolts. There isn't a problem with them. Just make sure your clutch and its hydraulic control system are functioning and adjusted properly and you won't eat the thrust bearing.

I build either it does not matter honestly. The reason most are starting to build 7 bolt's is due to the fact that 6 bolt's are getting harder and harder to find.

I'm no pro builder, but I don't think 7 bolts are as bad as the reputation they've gotten. That's like saying all women will take every cent you own. Okay, bad example...

My next "build" will be a 7 bolt 4g64.

7 bolts are completely fine. The crankwalk issue has been blown out of proportion as hardly an 7 bolts actually get it. I would just build keep the 7 bolt you have now.

Holsets are the DSM bee's knees. We're doing a lot with the HX35/HX40. Cheap, reliable, and make you go fast. What just happened? Stahp! I just broke cheap-reliable-fast pick two.
