Exclamation Act 2100 Clutch

Im shopping for a new clutch and was wondering if the act 2100 clutch kit was sufficient for DD weekend warrior.
How has your experience with this clutch?
What brand did you go with?

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

Selecting a clutch depends solely on the power output of the engine.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

If it's a DD. Go with the Centerforce dual friction clutch. Stock pedal pressure and about 2500 lbs clamping force. It's between the 2100 and 2600 but without the heavy clutch pedal. Pretty much costs the same as the other two.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

CFDF was 2300 last I remember. I used one in my 1G and loved it. Though I do not have experience with the ACT2100.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

Close enough for government work. I'd heard 2500 but 2300, either way I love them too.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

Yea, I made 577 according to link and never had a problem with slipping. Though I never launched it either.

Is the car stock?, if not I would stay away from the 2100.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

I have the 2100 with a six puck. Really stiff clutch and it blew out my original slave cylinder. I had to flush out the old fluid with new just to keep it from sinking to the floor with a new used one. The six puck engages rough. aaaait takes some practice letting it out smoothly. If i every drop the trans out again i'm going to put the stock spring puck back in. Grabs and launches great for the track but not my recomended setup for street.

New clutch shopper here and thats what im hoping doesnt happen with the new clutch. Its my DD but an upgrade from the stock clutch would be ideal. Not looking for a racing clutch.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

Trust my word, go with the CFDF. I've run two over the past 10 years. I've even towed my boat over that time with numerous launches and retrievals. The panda I had was using a stock clutch but the CFDF has held up the entire time, season after season on the red Talon pictured below in my sig.

Love the clutch. Make sure you buy an OEM throwout bearing.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

Nope, perfect for a DD. I've daily driven mine for almost 10 years on the CFDF. Report back after you're done with the switch. I'll be surprised if you regret the decision.

Re: Act 2100 Clutch

I just had my second CFDF put in. I love this clutch. I find that the pedal effort is about the same as the stock clutch. The first one lasted 15 years and about 50,000 miles and I do a lot of city driving.
