Right, the 2.4 standard pistons are a .060 2.0 piston, thus the use of "regular" instead of "standard."

Re: I am very humbly asking serious machinist/builders to step inside.

It should be worth noting that a large advantage of the 2.4 over the 2.3, is the 2.4 blocks are 6mm taller in deck height than the 2.0 blocks.

Wow, relax man. I wasn't arguing, more so clarifying a point you made. You said high revving and 2.3 which is simply not the case. I loved my 2.3 for street duty with a little bit of track sessions thrown in...but it wasn't the best drag motor. You were on point asking the purpose of the car as that is a huge contributing factor. My high compression aluminum rod 2.0 can rev to the moon, but it wouldn't be the best street setup...vice versa on the 2.3.

Re: I am very humbly asking serious machinist/builders to step inside.

We rev 2.3's with billett cranks to 9k all day. Same as with 2.4 Long Rods.

It is also worth mentioning that if you do a long rod motor whether it be a 2.0 or a 2.4 you need custom pistons or you have to use 2.3 pistons that are a point higher in compression then what you actually are looking for.

Loki, fantastic man, that's the info I was looking for .

11sec, what are you talking about, am I an angry typer? I'm not angry or anything else I just want real information. Nothing worse that searching and finding a long thread with no real info, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Re: I am very humbly asking serious machinist/builders to step inside.

Well, I am building a 2.3 race motor for a custom car installation later! I have a 91 block, 100mm 6-bolt crankshaft, and I just bought a set of Wiseco stroker pistons 86mm 8.8:1 & Eagle rods.
It is going in the back of a mid-engine street car to power the rear wheels. I want to pick the best turbo for the application, to make between 550-650HP, but have the quickest spool on the 2.3 for the street. I am also thinking I want a head with +1mm oversize valves for this 2.3, best idea for this combo right.

I am doing this simultaneously while working on my '91 Talon I have ALL built up for years now still never finished for its 'completed' goals yet, it is running a 2.0 block (actually an N/A block with no oil squirters- some may argue not best but others will say its fine, original rods modified to fit 2G pistons at 8.5:1, headwork and cams, and I just bought a 20G turbo to swap out for the chinese e16G I had on there! I can't wait to get pushing some serious boost..

Re: I am very humbly asking serious machinist/builders to step inside.

The 1mm over valves really arent worth the time and money spent, especially with your goals.
