Re: Relocating the Oil Cooler to Passenger Side
This is a third alternator in less than 1000 miles. One of them may have been the victim of water damage. But this last one is an oem reman with 110 amp; has started to give me the flickering lights symptom in less than 500 miles.
One thing I have just leaned from searching here, is the possible damage from oil leak. My power steering has signs of leaking. But still I feel the need to reduce heat or keep component from direct heat.
Relocating the alternator is a no no due to all-year summer weather in Dar-es-salaam.
Here is what I have so far done to combat heat in the engine bay:
1. Heat wrap 1/2 the down pipe and the 02 housing
2. Cut a small opening to let air through the front bumper
3. Installed ceramic coated evo3 manifold (got ride of the stainless tubular)
4. Fabricate a shield plate between the alternator and 02 housing
