Headers for 2.4L Spyder

I have noticed that the headers advertised for the 2.0 turbo engine are the same bolt pattern as my 4g64 2.4L non turbo. and all the non turbo headers have a different bolt pattern. What's up with that? Is there a set of headers out there for a 2.4L non turbo Spyder?

Well I answered my own question. Flowtech seems to have a set for $230.

Re: Headers for 2.4L Spyder

Tell me how those headers work out for you. I just cant see how those are the only headers (other than rpw headers) that fit our 4g64. Also it says that the flowtech fits the 420a, 4g63, & 4g64 and it is all the same header. I find that impossibly hard to believe. anyways, i would really like to kno if those worked out for you so i don't have to spend $575 on rpw headers instead.

Re: Headers for 2.4L Spyder

Sorry to bring up an old thread but... Did you purchase the Flowtech header for you 2.4L N/T Spyder? And if you did, did it fit properly?

I am intrested in upgrading my header also, but there isn't much available.

Re: Headers for 2.4L Spyder

Has anyone really bothered to look at the stock exhaust manifold on the 4G64? It's pretty much a set of headers anyway. Why spend the money on something (unless looks are just REALLY that important to you) that will not really gain you any performance at all. Instead, stick the money into a nice hi-flow cat and cat-back system.

Re: Headers for 2.4L Spyder

A aftermarket header is better than the stock exhaust manifold for more reasons than looks. They might look the same in some companys but in dimensions and airflow the aftermarket are made bigger for more airflow and horsepower, that's common sense.

Of course it will flow better. And just how much HP are you going to gain for your massive investment? Probably 5HP at 6000rpm. In other words, you'll never notice the difference. My point isn't that that the stock header is great - it's just that for the $$$ invested, you will see little to no return. It would be better to stick that money into something that would actually help you make HP.

Re: Headers for 2.4L Spyder

No, that's a "header" for a turbo car, instead of the cast stock unit.

Re: Headers for 2.4L Spyder

Did anyone ever have any luck finding any headers?

An old aftermarket exhaust fell off my 99 Spyder GS this week and I figured it would be a good time to get a catback and possible new headers but I'm striking out finding much. This is all I've been able to come across:

Re: Headers for 2.4L Spyder

Just go on eBay and search for:

4g63 NA Header

There are tons of them out there. Yes, the 4g63 NA header will fit on the 4g64.
