It is simply a 2 wire switch with different resistances depending on which way you push the lever. Some people have relocated the switch onto the column itself with aftermarket steering wheels but i'm sure you could figure out a way to keep it on the wheel if you really want.
That is what I was referring to when I said some ppl relocate it to the column. It's not a super complicated thing to change it just depends on how you want it setup.
No need to remove the clockspring you will simply re-plug the cruise control switch and horn wires.
Drill two new holes in the steering wheel adapter and mount the cruise control switch under the top adapter ring with counter-sunk flat head bolt.
