screeching sound at start up

Whenever I turn on my car that mofo starts sreeching loud as hell like if a belt was loose. but that's not the problem. The belts are new and properly tightened, so what else could it be?

It's the belt, take a candle and while the car is running, run the candle on the inside of the belt. (not lit, rub the wax) The noise should go away.

Mine do it all the time when it's cold.. I get my belts adjusted for free at the Mitsu dealer now

check your throttle body to be tight...I know i accidently put the wrong bolts in one time and the same TB screamed worse than a belt...just a thought

If the car's fairly cool, you can also run it for a couple seconds while it screeches, then shut it off and feel the belts and/or pulleys. The really hot one is your culprit.
