I was just jumping aroud the Honda-tech forums looking for funny things Honda guys says about dsm's, and I stumbled upon a thread with a video of the Buchur Racing Black evo race car making 903awhp....
I am suprised that I just heard about this, b/c when AMS hit this magic number I saw tons of threads pop up about it....Buschur runs an extremely different setup, and there car is their own personal race car, but still, very impressive...
It was only so long until AMS's number was cracked or matched....
When dyno numbers start to get that outrageous I have to go with who runs the quicker ET. You can run higher timing and a leaner a/f ratio for a quick dyno pull. When the car is on the pavement things do change a little. It is possible to get a dyno tune close, but I have never seen where no changes had to be made once the car was driven/raced.
IMO the way they are tuning the cars for the dyno runs, they would lose the motor after the 1000ft mark in top gear at the track with the exact same tune.
Good point, I am pretty sure AMS's corrected number is 930awhp, and I thought it made much more torque than Buschur's....
I don't think that Buschur's Evo was made for dyno/bragging power only, since that happens to be one of their drag car's...
AMS's record setting low-mid 9 second shop car made horsepower in the 800-850whp range, so it's interesting to see an all-turbo 900awhp shop car run AMS's 840whp shop car down the 1320....hmmmm
AMS's 900whp evo isn't their own car, and It seemed to me it was being built only to see big numbers on the dyno, but who knows...It's the same evo that used to terrorize the streets in FL when it ran a GT35r AMS kit + n2o...
AMS uses a GT42 and a 2.3stroker...
I am not sure of the Buschur setup, but it's some massive turbo and a high-revving 2.0L
Actually, i was thinking that AMS wouldn't have just not touched their setup over the winter. I'm pretty sure that their shop car has some stuff to come soon. AMS isn't the kind of guys to sit around and twidle their thumbs you know haha.
