4g6fiero's quest for greatness and kidney failure due to excessive consumption of Dew

I thought I'd share my Saturday morning with you guys.

Right now I got every wire out of the engine bay, doing a wire tuck, and by wire tuck I mean I dont any wire to be visible when you pop the hood. I'm also doing this because I plan on putting a stand alone in and I need to know what wires go where due to the fact I wont be using a maf and other modifications. Ofcourse, this car will be street legal in the loosest sense of the word. It wont have a a heater or ac in the future. It doesnt have one now, so thats convenient.

Also gonna put an awd setup in since I'm gonna replace the fuel tank with a fuel cell anyways. Heres where I'm at now. Ive been waiting a long time to have my own garage and money to spend on my dsm. This is a dream come true for me.

Heres where I got to today:
Wired up the fuel injectors/throttle position sensor/knock sensor/crank position sensor/camshaft position sensor/front o2 sensor/coilpack/transistor/starter/starter solenoid.

I drilled a new 1 1/2 inch hole through the firewall to run the wires through. The hole is right above the k member so you cant see the wires.

Re: 4g6fiero's quest for greatness and kidney failure due to excessive consumption of

Heres a better pic of where I'm running the power and sensor wires for the engine. The transmission wires will be ran through the fender and under the frame so you cant see them either.

Close look:

My coil pack relocation bracket:

Today I got around to connnecting the rest of the sensors such as the iacv and such. I'll try to get the rest of the wiring done in the engine bay including the tranny sensors/solenoids and such today. Then all i'll have left is to wire up the ecm and relays in the cab.

Thanks for the compliments!

Finally settled on a standalone for my project! I just ordered a MegaSquirt II ECU kit v3.0. I'm pretty excited for it to get here.

Its an AMAZING value.
You can control boost electronically with a 15 $ solenoid and program what boost you want to run at certain conditions, run 8 injectors for streetability, use speed density and individual fuel injection is in the works as well as a non wasted spark system. Oh, if you dont like something about, theres enough info out there to change it. You can borrow schematics people have used for other setups theyve created.

I'm sure I will!

MS is the shizzle. I just wish I was a better tuner. I really wouldn't know what to do with it, but every one of my customers that has had it says it is by far better than most standalones ten times more $. Congrats man. It's coming along.

PS: PM me some recent pics of the fiero. Hows that puppy coming along? You done yet?

Fieros are a dime a dozen in south dakota, I didnt realize they would be so rare here in FL. I love this state, though. I love living 50 feet from the beach. Kinda a dream come true.
And thanks on the compliment!

Its gonna get shaved ASAP. All holes in the firewall are getting welded shut now that I know which ones I need. Then the engine bay will get painted. I'm not sure what color, I'll prolly go with black. Sound good?

Huh. So what made you go with that snail? I'm really not familiar with that turbo at all.
