From my experience its not who builds a better transmission because in the end its still the same stock transmission unless you upgrade the gears. Each had a different trick that makes theirs unique. I have a thread on this (link posted by EE in post #2) and from opening up TRE's tranny I have seen what one of their trick is. The opening up for more oil flow trick is just cuts in different parts near bearings and parts of the tranny that sees friction. TRE uses Cryogenic treatment and shot peening to make the gears harder (key word is harder not stronger) I for one would rather choose one of the three companies mentioned by the way the owner treats you. Call them and talk to them. See which one makes you feel secure. All three will do a quality job.
Even though my TRE tranny exploded, upon opening it up, it shows how the work was done. In my case it was very clean and it definatly looks like details were added to the gears. I compared ALL my tranny internals with a stock unit that the Transmission shop had.

Yea im going to call all of them and see if i can talk to each of them and find out which one works best or which one treats me the best I cant wait to get a built trans though.
Well I don't have personal experience, as my DSM hasn't ran long enough to even consider a built tranny lol. But I have heard nothing but great things about Jackstransmissions.com. They have better deals and supposedly special things they do that neither TRE or Shep does. Plus they have a DSM that beats a busa in this video. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...28468397231877
Let us know what you decide and maybe write a review of your experience with whomever you go with.

Our receptionist had a bad accident the other day, so I am trying to keep up with the emails and calls while she is gone. What really sucks about this is the builds might be a little late again and I will have to return calls, so please leave me a message if you can and I'll call back asap. Sorry about this

That's what I like about Jack. Even if the news may not be good, he tells it like it is. Who's honestly going to say, "it may be longer than normal". Most people are going to tell you, "sure it will be done ASAP".
I've never met Jack, I don't rep for him, but I've always heard good stuff about him. After I get my tranny rebuilt by him, I'll post up my experience.

+1
I have to agree. Most do not state the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

No doubt about it, when the time comes, my tranny will be built by Jack. I still haven't decided if I should sell out and get AWD or try to run 10s FWD.

I cannot say anything bad about TRE but I had a shep tranny in my spyder and it never gave me a problem. Have one in my Talon but I have not had a chance to use it yet. But I expect good things.
After a friend of mine dealing with Shep then hafting to go to TRE to get his transmission right ill never go to shep. Transmission was rebuilt 3 times and in and out of his car. 2nd Gear still grinds, he called shep. She told him he doesnt know what to tell him. My friend asks, well if i buy a new trans from you will it still grind. Shep says honestly man i doubt that will fix it.
thats sad as hell. And my friend knows how to drive plus it was grinding 2nd stock before it even went to shepherd the first time.
