Best set of light bulbs I put in my garage / house

Normally I don't get too excited about things that improve the house or garage but I have to say, these light bulbs really put out some major light when you compare them to others the same wattage. They're made by Feit Electric and I stumbled upon them at Walgreens. They're a compact fluorescent and they're the brightest house bulb I've ever seen. I got the Daylight 100 which is a 100 watt replacement that only uses 23 watts. I've tried other 100 watt bulbs but nothing compare to these. They actually have 6500k color which is similar to HID's you see on cars. For less than 9 bucks you get 3 bulbs. I use them as my outside porch lights and garage lights (including the garage door opener). They also make a 200 watt Daylight which I may try out in the garage. The ones outside (100w) are already a little too bright.

Part number: ESL23TM/D/3 (3 pack)
Company: Feit Electric
# Natural color.
# 100 Watt replacement - Uses only 23 watts.
# Based on normal household use of 3 hours per day, this bulb lasts up to 7 years.
# Saves energy.
# Enhances color.
# Simulates natural light.
# Uplifting bright light.
# 6500 Degrees K Daylight.
# Light Output: 1600 Lumens.
# Energy Used: 23 Watts.
# Average Life: 8,000 Hours.

200 watt bulb:

Got those in the kitchen, they are way awesome

I have eight T12 4' florescent fixtures for my two car garage. Pretty excessive, but there isn't a dark spot anywhere If you ever want more light in the sanctuary, you can find similar fixtures for $8-9 at some stores. Add some MC cable, and you're in business

If you haven't tryed them out in your shop's drop light, do so now. The compact florescent work really good in your drop lights.

I have the same color (the true daylight 6500k) but in 8ft tubes in my garage & shop and love them.

hmm, you think eight 4 footers is excess for a 2 car garage huh? I was thinking 2 eight footers and 3 four footers for my 1 car. Maybe that's too much. Although I've currently got on bulb for the garage so I can dream right

Do not get 8ft bulbs. They suck to replace, I have them in my home shop and have been converting to 4ft bulbs as the ballasts die. I always drop 1-2 of the 8ft bulbs replacing them because they're so awkward, and they have to be broken up to fit in your trash can.

I did think about that. There's no way I could transport them without the wifey's car. It just seems so much easier to have 2 instead of 4. Oh well I've got some time to consider it.

Re: Best set of light bulbs I put in my garage / house

To be fair.. in the first pic it looks like there's a light or two out.. so he did add extra bulbs! The difference does seems to be there, I might have to give these a try in my bedroom.

Re: Best set of light bulbs I put in my garage / house

It's true that there were a couple more lights on in the After pics. I bought the same lights the OP suggested. 100 Watt equivalents. They replaced 60-70 watt incandescents so that might not be fair either. Still they get really bright and the color temp is really nice. Without having to install new lights, these work well for sure.
