At the end of last season I did a 2-3-2 mis-shift, logged almost 13k Rpm. The throw-out bearing came apart and damaged the clutch. I sent it to Shep for a rebuild and while it was there I put the 2900 in the car. I ended up liking it more then the QM so I sold it.

So it's a rebuilt short block? Or am I reading that wrong?

Re: 10.40@141 on stock short block

So you have a 140mph car and your just learning how to NLTS. lol
Probably is bad on the tranny but I used to do it all the time driving around on the street to the point driving friends sti I would forget to lift my foot off the gas.

Bad ass times, good job. Poor poor stock block

Haha alright. I can't wait to see what my 70k original block can handle Maybe in 2-3 years when I save up enough money you'll have some competition.

Re: 10.40@141 on stock short block

You would be surprised what a well maintained stock block can handle. Great job on that run. NLTS is really hard on the gears and synchros. I use to love it and still do but stay away from it now.

The gearing in the tranny stock? or the shorter Evo gears?

You run makes me feel good about my 11 sec run I did with stock long block.

Re: 10.40@141 on stock short block

I feel even better about not building my 6bolt block and just putting new oem stuff in there, especially for my low 400awhp goal. These are some stout motors, and from what Im seeing if your not over 500awhp 6bolt; why build it? lol

It's a Shep stage IV:

" . This upgrade replaces all of the 1-4 internals and shafts and has a custom ratio 3-4 to keep the rpms up between shifts and through the traps. "

Re: 10.40@141 on stock short block

Props on the new times, I rebuilt my block stock as well becuase they are good for so much power and you proved it yet againt, we missed you at the OH shootout, next year for sure... right??

Three questions, can you elaborate on the quarter master decison?

And I am assuming you got the Buschur head becuase you needed it o-ringed to run that much boost with out pushing coolant? What headgasket?

Later Dr Turbo

Re: 10.40@141 on stock short block

Have you guys seen the STM stock 7-bolt 2ga Talon? Went 10.94 on a stock 7 bolt block with ARP's and cams. Check it out: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/C...lon_184959.htm

Not trying to thread jack by any means. Congrats on the times. The 4G63 in any variant is just an amazing engine. Say what you will about Mitsu, but they know their turbo 4's. Even the 4B11 is showing some serious muscle with minimal mods.

Yes, the car has a BR Stage III cylinder head ( with O-rings ). I am using the Mistu MLS head gasket. As for the clutch, I put a 2900 in the car while the QM was at Shep's getting rebuilt. I liked the ACT so much I decided to keep it. I honestly did not like the QM, very noisy, chattered a lot, and I broke a lot of parts the few times I used it.

And yes, I will be at the Shoot out next year!

Nice runs!
