What connector is this?

I am swapping my manual for an automatic and will need to swap harnesses to enable TCU shifting. I have pulled the harness from my once automatic parts car and have looked over the connectors, finding the harness to be nearly identical except for the following connector.

What is this one for? It sits under the driver's seat and is part of the rear o2 branch of the engine harness. It has 5 wires and travels back into another harness running along the driver's side door sill. This is in the 5-speed harness of a 1998 Spyder.

Re: What connector is this?

I'm wondering if that has something to do with the convertible top? Don't really recall seeing a connector there the few times I've had a 2g apart.

Re: What connector is this?

That might be power top wiring. The convertible top control module is mounted on the passenger compartment side of the trunk's bulkhead.
Right behind the drivers seat if i recall correctly. Does the harness run there & terminate?

Re: What connector is this?

I was going to guess that it was for the convertible top. I haven't disconnected it yet and tested the convertible top, but that'll be my next step and go from there.

Thank you for the logical responses. I posted the same question on the "other forum" and was told it...

Maybe it's for the rear windshield wiper... on my convertible.

Re: What connector is this?

For the '98+ (possibly '97?) 4G63 vehicles:

Pin 1 - Red, for EVAP emission ventilation solenoid, power
Pin 2 - Blue w/ red, for EVAP emission ventilation solenoid, to ECU pin 55
Pin 3 - Don't find it anywhere so I assume none

Pins 4, 5, and 6 are for the fuel tank differential pressure sensor.
Pin 4 - Green w/ yellow
Pin 5 - Blue w/ white, to ECU pin 61
Pin 6 - Black, ground

The other site provided some good information. I pulled out the ohm meter and verified the connector beneath the fuel pump cover. The harness in question connects to the EVAP emission ventilation solenoid and fuel tank differential pressure sensor.

Now things get interesting.

I'm running a 98 ECU in a 98 chassis with a 95 harness and 95 fuel tank. I no longer have the 97+ emissions stuff on the fuel tank. I'm thinking I should be able to get by without doing much to the harness I have, but I'll suspect that the 98 ECU won't see these two pieces hooked up and throw a code.

Is there any easy way around this? I may be able to disable these in ECUFlash, but haven't dove into it that far yet. My tune was done on a dyno and I haven't learned as much as I should have.
