ARP vs OEM crank pulley bolt

ok I already know that the ARP will be better, but my question is, is it worth paying the extra for it? I am running out of money fast for this build and was wondering if a OEM bolt is more than enough. I don't see myself going over 500hp anytime soon

I frankly don't see the point in them. If you want something else you could go buy grade 8 bolts from Ace hardware in the appropriate size.

I dont even think it would be better, just look better. Definitely not worth the extra money IMO.

In my opinion, I prefer the OEM Bolt. The 1/2" Drive slot is convenient.

This! Handy to poke the impact in and have the pulley off!

I just put the arp on mine, its not bad. Looks good I guess lol.

Must have misread what he was referring to. I'd keep the stock crank bolt. Same applies to the pulley bolts too.

I also believe that's called the crank sprocket bolt, as it doesn't hold the pulley on.

since we are on the arp topic, what about cam gear bolts? OEM are fine or ARP

Stock fastener's are all fine imo. I torque all my bolts as needed. Only aftermarket hardware I run on the is head studs and exhaust manifold studs. If the engine has been rebuilt several times and bolts are over tightened they may stretch a bit. Its rare I've read people breaking bolts while driving.

New stock Hardware works very well on the car. Only upgraded bolts that need to be done are the Head Studs, Main Caps and Rod Bolts for your after market rods.

Nothing else needs to be replaced.
