stock infinity amplifier + upgrade path

2 questions:

1) i was looking under my passenger seat, and found the stock Infinity amplifier (1997 Talon TSi). it had a set of wires with a wiring harness on the end heading towards the amp, but it is actually unplugged.

is anyone familiar with how the stock amp is set up, what those wires could be for, and what might happen if i plug them in? (car explodes?)

2) aside from my stock Infinity system, i just received 2 Infinity Reference series 6x9s for the back. i installed them (with some forcing) and they sound much better than the old stockers. My front door speakers are adequate aftermarket Pioneer put in by somebody else. (better than stock, but not that great)

My question is, what should I look at next if I wish to get better sound? (i can only afford piece by piece upgrades) should i get a more powerful deck, an amp for the 6x9s, or a subwoofer and amp....?

Thanks!

Your next upgrade should be a new deck then a four channel amp for your front and rear speakers or subs and a amp to power them.

The factory amp can only be used with the factory deck. The wires go from the deck to theamp and back to the deck then out to the speakers.

the stock deck does not have any power it needs to be used with the stock amp.

Really!, i didnt think they did. my 91 had bus cords going in and out of the deck so i thought it was just a preamp deck 2g could be diffrent, learn somthing new every day.
