Hey, i'll admit it i'm a dumbass when it comes to car audio stuff. I have a sony head unit on the stock infinity sound system. I just bought 2 Pyramid 12" subs off ebay and i'm gonna stick em my friends old box. The subs are 500 watts max each, and 4 ohms each (Thats what it says). Anyway, can you guys help me pick a good amp for this set up? I don't want extremely loud i just want some nice bass. thanks for the help. also is there anything else I need?
If your not looking for anything special, just goto your local shop and pick up something like an Alpine 2 Channel mono amp. And, if you didnt want too much, should've find an auction for only one sub. 1 10" is plenty.
Alpine is good stuff for amps, IMO. So are Xtant and JL, but i doubt you wanna pay those pricetags. All else fails, goto Best Buy and get their weekly special. It'll suit your needs from the sounds of things.
I currently have a cousitc amp. I had never heard of them but my local shop highly recommeded them I love it... It knocks f i want it to, but i can also turn it down...
so you really think the coustic amp is a decent amp? I like the price! i think i wanna get it. you got anymore details on it, like your experience with the amp?
I honestly think the 600 will be too much... I am pushing 2 mtx thunder 6000 10" and they knowck like crazy... teh coustic 400se is 400 watts rms.. and my subs handle 250 rms each.... usually if your subs handle 500 rms you want 400 ras going to them for the best sound.. and use that as a scale factor for the rest... teh coustic 600s e is 300 rms * 2 so you gotta deside.. but the pyramid's aren't that good of subs at all... just to let you know.
