I read alot about FMIC on here, and have done a search on the Amex kit. But, I just wanted to get some updated opinions because all of the search threads are pretty old.
Anyway, I have all the supporting mods i need, and my Big16G is on the way (fully ported and clipped 10 degrees).
Now, i just picked up an Apexi FMIC kit for $300 shipped. It is in great condition with no bent fins and the cort is polished. I plan on running arount 18-19 psi of boost. I am pretty confident the Apex kit will provide enough cooling.
Any thoughts or opinions here? Also, will I lose my factory foglights? If so does that mean I cant put aftermarket lights in their place (ie Catz XSL driving lights)?
I really love the look of this core. But, I thought about selling it and getting a GReddy BIG FMIC in return.
Damn 300 for a fmic kit or just the core ??!! If it was the kit thats a damn good deal.
I think the apex fmic looks the best cooling wise i dont know if its any better or worse than anythin else.
You got the WHOLE kit for $300 ? on an Apex'i FMIC ? end tanks / pipes / and no damage ? have you pressure tested it ?
If you don't want it, and can provide some pics of what you have, I'll give you $300 for it ! that is the deal of a life time. That kit retails for over $1,000 usually, more expensive than the GReddy.

Yes definitely.

First off, that is one hell of a deal you got!
I love my Apexi FMIC, look at my mods, they are similiar to yours.
I have been running 19psi on the street w/ 93 octane gas. I am getting a Greddy EGT gauge soon (just ordered today from RRE) so I don't know exactly how hot the cylinders are. Bottom line, the IC will work fine.
Does this guy happen to have anything else for sale? PM me your response.
