Re: MindBlowin03's project: '97 TSi AWD

2013 was another great year. Car ran great all year as usual. Considering that 90% of my driving is to and from work it's not a huge accomplishment but still, lol. I also did a little more grassroots racing and had success.
~720 whp GT500
Another...
C6 Vette, unknown mods.
My buddy's(yellow90tsi) high HP Supra. Major wheel spin for him to say the least, lol.

I was riding a worn 2600 with street disk so after the races I decided to pull the trans and address the situation. After much reading and speaking with some DSM transmission pros I decided to go with a ACT 2900 combined with either a street disk or an unsprung 4 puck. As much as I loved the street disk I decided to go with the puck style instead. Unfortunately I did not take any pics of the process but it's in there. I also changed all 10 of my rear wheel studs. Two were a bit iffy but I figured WTF since I was in there.

Other than those two small things everything else will stay the same for this year. I really wanted to attend the East Coast Shootout this year but we are expecting a new member of the family in late May so even spectating my not happen.

Re: MindBlowin03's project: '97 TSi AWD

I just realized that I did not post any videos from last years event. Here are a few of the better ones.

Modded Z06, unknown mods.

Then of course there is the race of all races...a modded GT-R. Personally these were the best races I have even been apart of. We raced a total of 6 times - He won 3 and I won 3. Basically, if I shifted perfect I won and if I didnt then he won. Here are two of the vids.

Yellow90 doesn't have his gorgeous 1G anymore?

I love your car, man. True street car. I might just have to copy your entire setup except instead of the T3 .70 a/r go with Twin-scroll T3 in the stock housing.

Re: MindBlowin03's project: '97 TSi AWD

He still has it. He hasn't had much luck with his drivetrain the last couple years plus he's been working on the supra a lot.

I tell everyone who asks me...I have a great great street setup and have no plans to change anything with the car. Makes great top end power and still has good mid range torque.

Re: MindBlowin03's project: '97 TSi AWD

I'm curious as to the close proximity of your HP/TQ numbers. You believe it is due to your cyclone manifold? I have some nasty things in store for the 2g, so I like to know what works.

Re: MindBlowin03's project: '97 TSi AWD

He has a dyno sheet before and after around here somewhere. The Cyclone is my favorite intake manifold for any street DSM.

And hell yeah, I hear you on that one MindBlowin. The only reason I say twin-scroll for me is because I'm going to be an Auto, and I HATE driving re-stalled autos on the street. That "snap" and throttle response isn't there, and makes the car feel lazy on the low end. Beans spools his stock housing HX40 on the stock 1G converter even on a lazy 2.0L, so I plan to go with a built 4G64. Should spool very nice for street use and still have some decent top end.

I believe it was mostly due to the Cyclone intake mani, however there was boost spike as well which helped a little.

So this is All on pump with meth? Is that why the injector duty is low?
Keep up the good work!
