I'm currently in the process of restoring my 1993 eagle talon tsi, and have been working to diagnose an engine stutter under hard acceleration. Well after driving it around my neighborhood a few times, I parked it and left it overnight. The next morning, it would not start at all, no matter what we did, it didnt even try to kick over. We found that the spark plugs were not getting any spark, so we cleaned the spark plugs and replaced the coil packs. After the install we tried to start it up again and were met with the same result - it still won't start. I noticed that there was corrosion on the spark plug wires and somewhat in the spark plug cavities as well. I was thinking maybe it could be the spark plug wires, but how could they all stop working overnight?

So would replacing those wires be the best next step? Or is there something I'm missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Note: I also checked all fuses in the engine bay. Is there any in the car that might be useful to check?

You might get a better response at Dsmtuners. That site is still active.

I'd try the following:

1) New spark plugs
2) New plug wires.
3) New power transistor for coil packs.

If it still doesn't start you should start diagnosing fuel related issues.

Thank for the reply, from other threads I have read, the power transistor seemed to be the problem. I'll try all 3 of those solutions as I think it needs new plugs and wires anyways. Thanks!!

Replace the electrolytic can capacitors on your ECU circuit board.

These degrade after ten years and cause intermittent stsrt-run, or no start.

there are two or three of them.

Yeah, I was also thinking ECU issue. Especially since you drove it around for a bit, which moved some of the parts around.
