Which is better, a 2 1/2" downpipe or a 3"? Ive been told to go with a 2 1/2" but ive been reading recent posts where people say they want a 3" opposed to a 2 1/2". Thanks

Depends on what kind of hp or turbo you plan on going with...
I've heard/read 2.5" is optimum up to big 16g turbos.
3" is better for bigger turbos and more hp.

RRE sells a mandrel bend 2.5" DP first bend (for about $30), which you can have welded to a flex section, and then to a 3" pipe for the rest. The reason for this is so it doesnt interfere with the oil filter, which I think a lot of people have had problems with.

Wouldn't having the first bend at 2.5" defeat the purpose of having the 3" dp? The exhaust is only as big as its smallest point right?
